Kali, an ally for netbook?

Backtrack gave machine guns to kids, and Kali linux adds grenade launcher to it

As i told you before i was looking for a nice distro for my underpowered intel atom netbook. and i tried elementary os luna, ubuntu 14.04, linux mint qiana, lubuntu 13.10 and the windows 7 and 8 (which we dont really count ;) )

The lubuntu was very light in weight but it had a problem which 75% of boys with girl friend knows, it complaints every time that it detects a problem.

Then the Ubuntu, even though  its a nice distribution with all out-of-the-box stuff, i hate that unity desktop and felt that its too mainstream. Well thats a bad decision from me, but among these it might be the one i may go for, if i didnt ended up well with Kali Linux (unfortunately, you dont have a chance dear :D), but still i believe that they could improve boot time by removing all those amazon searching scopes and all those stuffs (seriously, i dont know anyone who searches in unity for things, pathetic, isnt it?)

Then i came up with the most beautiful Elementary Os 0.2, The Luna. It is one of the lightweight distribution sized around 650MB and its a very nice distribution for a basic user, and its environment is very flashy too, ( i do believe that, i mentioned these things in my earlier post). However, being a dabbler in and a toddler in coding i would like to get some tools and IDEs preinstalled, which the elementary doesnt have (ofcourse, it should not have it, coz its aimed towards average users).

As i couldnt deal with what elementary offered, i came with the distribution with large live image which is more than 3GB and which justified the size, the mighty Kali Linux. while talking about kali linux i remember the phrase a well known linux user used in one of the forum and i would like to quote it her, he said "Backtrack gave machine guns to kids, and Kali linux adds grenade launcher to it", when we analyse the tools in kali linux, we have to agree that what he said is correct, Kali Linux is a great tool for penetration testers, but thats not all, its reall a great distro for every day use, it boots up fast (dont expect a 2 sec) and features a very good battery back up, now this machine is powered on for past 2:15 hours with a 80% battery and now iam blogging, reading messages, while clementine is singing for me, and the terminal is downloading some packages, it shows that i still have 58% percent remaining, Impressive, isnt it?

while you dealing with Kali Linux the first thing is that you should give a check to blackmoreops.com they really have a nice article on Kali Linux.

Due to lack in RAM and some limitations in my samsung n150 i requires much time to do penetrations and am just learning it, :) so you can excuse me for that. I will be back with more reviews and ratings from my side, meanwhile you do experiments as well :) happy computing.
