Whats the best way to ruin a person's day, who do intercourse with computers? well, damage his pc, so that he may die due to desperationAs i said above, a broken computer is a nightmare for any computer lovers, and today morning i landed into such a disastrous thing.
I was using my computer for till last night without any problem, any this morning when i tried to turn on, the green light just flashed and the cpu fan just moved and thats it, after that there was no response. I tried to turn on several times, but i wasnt lucky, it didnt turned up.
So the first thing i concluded was my SMPS got damaged, and then the next moment i realised that what i concluded was absolutely ridiculous, as my cpu light got flashed and fan made a rotate, power was clearly transferring. Then i thought about mother board failure, and almost believed it,but then, i just gave a thought that what if the CMOS got altered? so why not reset it?

What i did for resetting CMOS of my Asus P5 KPL-AM/PS mother board is by removing the CMOS jumper, and place it on 2nd and third pin for 5 seconds so that it will get short and reset, then i placed it back on the old position, and plugged all the pins back and turned it on, voila.it turned on.
Some of you might have a CMOS clear button, if thats case, press it for 5 seconds then CMOS gets reset, and if you cant see that then remove your bios battery and invert its positive and negative for few seconds (almost 5) and then place it back and switch your pc on.
While turning it on, get into your bios and choose load default settings, and after that, well buy me a beer :D
